Pineapple

Sunday we had lunch with both sets of our parents at a local Indian restaurant. I wore a blouse I made from some of the new fabric I picked up last week on sale. It was hard choosing a first project but I went with the pineapple print since it was just so fun and tropical. I've always had a fondness for frilly tops, they remind me of when my parents round (ballroom to cues) and square danced weekly. My mom was a seamstress and made many dance costumes over the years. I wore hand-me-downs from square dancers all my childhood.  I always have had a unique since of style, I adored full and circle skirts, petticoats, and frilly blouses even when all my schoolmates were wearing jeans and tank tops. This style of top looks adorable in person but doesn't photograph very well, I'll keep trying though, I have 2 more prints to make variations of it with so you'll be seeing them plenty here on the blog.

We had snapped a few photos before lunch but on the way home I had Hubby stop at one of the historic buildings on the way home to get a few more.
