Sugar Skull

I've been in pretty good spirits this week. Probably because I haven't been letting myself slack on walking, I've logged 15 miles already this week. After taking much of last year off from walking I forgot how quickly I run through athletic shoes. My current pair is already worn through the tread so I had to switch to my back-up older pair that had just a touch more grip. I'm hoping I can grab an odd job or two to cover the cost of a new pair. I think I'll go for a pair of ASICS trail runners again, they last a long time and are great for a range of terrain, I am an ASICS convert.

I started walking to the lake again, I stay away from while school is out because it is so busy. I don't know if it has been the slightly cooler weather or InkTober but lately I've seen lots of artists at the lake. Mostly sketch and acrylics but there is one guy that is doing an incredibly gorgeous watercolor. Next week I may walk down to the lake but skip the laps and set up to do some pastels, I miss drawing.
I really like how my outfit came together today. I had planned to style this completely different but the high today was about 87 so I ditched the cardigan and tights idea. Plus it is wonderful to be able to wear sleeveless things again now the bruise from getting attacked has healed.

Lips: NYX Wicked Lippies in Cold Hearted
Hey ladies, NYX wicked lippies are on sale right now!
This skull necklace is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry I own. I always get tons of compliments on it. I'm lusting over the amber colored one, maybe I'll put it on my birthday wish list for Hubby.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to get a little sewing under my belt on the medieval outfits for the Ren Faire in January. The sewing time with my Mom on Monday didn't go as planned because my patterns got all messed up when we moved into our house and I had whole portions miss-placed. I found the missing pieces to one for hubby but the dress I planned to make was missing one piece from the pattern, an uncut pattern I bought new and never used was missing a very important piece. Luckily a friend has the same pattern so she really saved me on that one. I'll get it from her and back to work when she gets back into town. In the mean time time I'll work on my new skirt and one of Hubby's tunics.
