Warm Weekends

Well, I think summer is finally here in North Florida. We have had highs in the 90s and UV indexes of 10. I love warm weather but I certainly am going to have to wake up earlier to walk in the mornings. I made the first big pot of mint tea to sip on today, I grow several types of mints and I love adding them to pots of black tea, now need to clear out some space in the freezer for a bag of ice.

Saturday a friend's wine bar closed down (before moving and joining another local business), we attending the farewell party. There was lovely fondue, both cheese and chocolate, and lots of good friends to chat with. This is the outfit I wore.

I found this lovely Calvin Klein dress at Goodwill the day before for $6.  I am going to have to add a little to the back to fit a little better, it was designed for someone with a much smaller chest. Of course on a different day it might fit better, my chest can fluctuate a full cup size. I was so smitten with this dress that evening no matter what. I felt horrible Saturday and was in so much pain I needed to feel pretty. I think I hid my pain pretty well in these photos, all I wanted to do was curl up with a heating pad on my neck and put my arm in a sling. I still don't know what I did to my neck and shoulder but Hubby was a saint and rubbed out my tight muscles for me every night while they were in pain.

I've wanted to do a shoot at this lovely location for nearly a year. It is a busy complex during the day which doesn't lend itself well to self photography. Hubby gladly agreed to take photos for me Saturday evening, we were afraid it would be too bright but we hit it at just the right time of day.

Sunday for Mother's Day we had brunch with my mom and dad, they enjoy cooking more than going out. They outdid themselves- hash brown casserole, french toast, sausages, and grilled pineapple. I brought mom bright yellow daisies and a pair of vintage flamingo salt ans pepper shakers, s+p shakers are her new favorite thing.

Later in the day we met up with Hubby's parents. We had a dinner out at Jason's Deli then we all went on a hike (more like a stroll) with Hubby's brother and his two children.

Can you spot the moorhen?

Hubby and I got to see an adorable marsh rice rat. He scurried off before we could show the kids.
I finally managed to get a photo of a dragonfly. Every time I would try it would fly off or when I got focused someone else would come along and scare it off.

The bunnies would have loved all the dandelions, they love to much on the poofs.
