Even if you don't watch it you probably know the last episode of Mad Men is Sunday. I wasn't always a fan, in fact I didn't watch it till I found the fist 4 seasons on Netflix. I was lucky and just finished the first 4 seasons when the 5th season dropped so I continued to watch. I watched the 6th and now 7th seasons on air. I never planned to be a fan, I didn't even want to watch past the first episode but I'm glad I did. I did mostly watch it for the costumes at first but I love the way the writers incorporated real history and events into a made-up plot. I have a keen interest in history, if I ever go to college I plan on majoring in history or cultural anthropology. Plus I was raised by my grandparents, who were in their 20s in the 1960s, so I grew up hearing stories and was familiar with the decade.
I planned on doing a Mad Men themed shoot at one of the cool mid century modern buildings downtown but it was under construction the way we took to the top so we left to find a back-up location.
Then the back-up location didn't work either but we found this deserted old office building and decided to stop and snap a few pictures. It was getting late and I was hungry and it was 94 degrees out so beggars can't be choosers.
While this hair reminds me of Meredith, I'm a Joan kind of gal. But I didn't start feeling my Joan swagger till we got down to the lower level to take pictures, then I was working it.
I'm wearing gold tone kitty earrings from Avon as a nod to Joan. I have a matching brooch and scatter pin, which I laid out to wear, but I forgot to put them on.
