Christmas Parties

We went to the 3rd Christmas party this month last night. The first one was Hubby's office party, the second was Trashmas for Trash Cinema Collective, and last night was a get together at a friend's house. December is always special to me- cooler weather, pretty lights, decorating my purple themed tree, holiday parties, lots of baking, family, and of course my birthday. This December is already shaping up to be super busy.

Hubby's office party was nice, lots of good food and nice people. We had to slip out early though, it was the first night of the volleyball tournament and we didn't want to miss too much.
It is hard to get into the holiday spirit when it is 80 degrees so I just wore a fun outfit.
Glasses- Amazon
Necklace- Modcloth clearance sale
Dress- Made by me
Belt- Target
Tights- Sock Dreams
Shoes- Burlington, kids section

I didn't get any pictures of my outfit for Trash Cinema but I wore a vintage slinky black dress that had prismatic glitter all over it, black tights, and boots. We watched Santa's Slay but when it was over it was time for the annual Black Elephant gift exchange. Our black elephant is just like a white elephant aka yankee swap but with naughty or trashy gifts. I had several things stolen from me during the swap but I ended up taking home a gift box of OPI nail polish minis and Hubby got a 22 ounce gummy bear. It was a fun night.

We managed to snap some quick pics before the party last night. The Christmas lights at the lake weren't all on yet but Lake Ella is always pretty even without them.
Before starting fashion blogging I never would have thought about putting mint and red together. I always was perfectly put together before (mostly matching a bright with a neutral kind of dresser) but following amazing bloggers has helped me branch out and try new color combos.

It started getting windy and chilly when we took these photos. It is finally starting to feel like December weather.
