Miss Bunny's Hummus

I love hummus. Garbonzo beans, tahini (I love it more than peanut butter), and olive oil are some of my favorite things and hummus brings them all together. While some store bought hummus can be pretty good nothing beats fresh made straight from your food processor. I like to serve it at room temperature.




Miss Bunny's Hummus

4 cups cooked garbonzo beans
1\4 cup olive oil
1\4 cup tahini
1\4 cup water
1 to 2 TBS minced garlic
A dash of lime juice
Salt
Sesame seeds

I cook my own garbonzo beans, I add a black tea bag to the cooking water to add extra color and flavor. You could use canned just as easily, if using canned be sure to rinse the beans well. 

Directions:

Add all but last three ingredients, pulse till smooth. My husband and I love garlic so I normally would add 2 TBS but if you like it more mild just go with one. Add a dash or two of lime juice and salt to taste. Pulse a few more times to mix in salt. Turn out hummus in bowl and liberally sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Serve with an assortment of garden fresh veggies and or pita chips. Fresh hummus is great on toast and wonderful as pizza sauce ( substitute hummus for pizza sauce) on a Mediterranean pizza.
