Happy Unanniversary

Today is my unanniversary. Let me explain, my husband and I got married on February 29th  2008. Today at the stroke of midnight is kind of our 6th anniversary but we won't have a real anniversary till 2016 which will be our second true anniversary. In all the hustle and bustle of my sister and dear little niece I completely forgot that today was our anniversary, I have been worried about decorating and getting ready for the baby shower. Baby Eden decided to arrive several weeks early so she could attend her shower in person.

My inspiration for the week via a crosswalk

Today I got a little time to spend with my mom. We had a nice lunch then went shopping at Goodwill. I found some amazingly cute skirts I can't wait to style, I even found a Vince Camuto.

This afternoon I played it safe in this comfy outfit

Lips- M.A.C.
Necklace- vintage
Shirt- Goodwill
Boots- Minnetonka (old)

When I wear this outfit again I think I will opt for skinny jeans. Mine were in the wash so I went with leggings.

The necklace is butter soft leather with pseudo bells and feather charms. I bought it on Etsy and the seller told me she had worn it to Woodstock!

Playing with another nude nail look, it matched this shirt perfectly

Fashion Police, painting pretty pink nails, and sipping on champagne are the perfect way to chill before a busy day.

Garden for Eden

Today is very special,  I got to meet two new members of the family. One was my brother in law and the other was my niece. Miss Eden came into the world this morning around 8:30. The new daddy missed the birth by a couple of hours, Hawaii is a long flight. I am so happy my family came to the homestead for the birth, I miss my sister dearly when she is gone.

Eden's footprints
Eden inspired my floral look for today, I would give her a garden full of flowers if I could.
It is very hard to pose when you want to explode from happiness

Necklace- Vintage
Cardigan-  Cable knit silk and cashmere blend I found Goodwill for $5
Skirt- eBay
Tights- Sock Dreams
Shoes- Old (my most comfy heels)

I love the roses on my skirt, they look like the wild roses that grow in northern Florida.

I was going to wear this to the baby shower but since Eden couldn't wait to come I wore this for her today.

ModCloth looks like it is growing a garden for Eden. Aren't these rose prints beautiful?

Good Witch

Today is a very exciting day. I can't say much about it yet but to help burn off energy a friend and I got iced coffees and ate lunch by the lake. It was wonderful to get out and enjoy the sunshine. The puddle ducks  kept us company.

duck butt *hehe*

Yesterday I finished the dolly I was working on. Her pattern can be found here. You also can find the pattern in a fun little book called Witch Craft
This book is a compilation of many great Etsy artists.

Isn't she the cutest? The designer's attention to detail is amazing. I have several of their patterns and I love every one. I can't wait to make more cute little witches.

I used larger yarn and hook then called for because I wanted a large doll.
I used worsted weight yarn and a 4.5 mm hook.

Halters and Bandanas

Today is perfect, simply perfect. It is in the mid 70s and there are only a few wispy clouds.

The hubby and I went to the garden center to get some soil to start setting up the Spring and Summer garden. It is still a little too early to plant veggies but we are going to sprout seeds this year so we need to get going on those.
 My OOTD:

Lips- Wet n Wild MegaLast in Red Velvet
Bandana- Dollar store
Glasses- ModCloth
Earrings - Belladonna's RagDoll (a super sweet friend and former co-worker's amazing little shop)
Halter- Vintage, Avant Garb for $5!
Bag- Baby Phat, brand new with tags at Goodwill
Belt- thrifted
Jeans- old
How cute is this halter? It fits perfectly! I can't wait to wear it with cut offs and red heels for a photo shoot.

Going to Lowes gave me an opportunity to take flower photos, I love to photograph flowers.

I couldn't leave without a new gerbera daisy, I lost my last one to the freeze. I think I will cut one to put in my bud vase in the kitchen.

I've been craving an ice coffee for the last week. I guess I just wanted to sit back and have someone else make me a drink. We stopped at Dunkin' on the way home and got a coffee and after looking at the donuts we had to get a donut each too. How fun is the green?

Rainy Day

The storm rolled in this morning and with fierce vengeance. I was expecting to be yucky all day but to my surprise it was cloudy and cool this afternoon.

Please ignore my silly hair shade, I am still in the process of going from burgundy to my natural black. Although it went well with dress, as noted from the gal at Ross.
(I used my discount from modeling for them)
Necklace- Vintage from The OTHER SIDE Vintage
Tights- Sock Dreams
Boots- old
Bracelet - gift
Today was a great day to accessorize.
I love this dress, it is soft cotton knit and can be dressed up or down easily. I plan to wear it during football season with gold accessories. It was only $29, hit them on a sale and you can get it for 15% off.

The necklace is so fun, five strands are better than one. The beads are plastic but it sill lays well and besides, can you image how heavy it would be if they were glass? I wore the necklace earlier this week with a ruffled cream colored tank and black leggings, it blends into all types of outfits well.

Look at those killer red lips. I can't believe that is a $1.99 color from Wet n Wild. Purty Persimmon is a bright orange-red great for brightening rainy days. I love the Mega Last colors from Wet n Wild, they are long lasting and don't bleed.

Nude nails. I have not always been a big fan of nude nails on myself, I love color, but Pinterest worked it's magic and got me hooked on fun nude looks. I used three coats of  Wet n Wild Mega Last in Sugar Coat and accented the ring fingers with a gold glitter top coat for a little sparkle.

Look how cute, next I will be trying the green and blue ones.

And because fortune cookies can't lie
this was my fortune today

Looking Back

Today is rather warm, 80 degrees or so which is a little warm for February. The wind is picking up and the clouds are rolling in for an evening thunderstorm. The weather was like this on one of my favorite shoots last year. It did rain a little on us when we were shooting the rest of this set.

These were taken at one of my favorite local parks. I used to volunteer at the art center there.

 Dress- Burlington
Gold Fishnets- old
Slip- Vintage (from my husband's grandmother)
Shoes- Liz Claiborne
Jewelry- Vintage

I bought the hat in Colonial Williamsburg when I was younger, it was one of the few things I could afford. Years later I pulled the hat back out and crocheted the accents for it.

Here are some close-ups of the hat, the red flower pattern can be found here
I covered the making of this hat on my crochet blog Nyanpon

The Ravellenic Winter Games 2014

Since the birth of Ravelry they have hosted the Ravellenic Games during the Olympics.

I didn't get to compete last games but I was sure to play for Team Bunny Slaves this year.

Tipsy did not approve of me spending so much time crocheting and not petting the bunny.

I competed in the Giant Slalom-ghan
I just finished my project (well, all but weaving in ends)
The great guide I used can be found here
and the Ravelry page here

I had wanted to make a slightly bigger throw but I ran out of yarn.  Once it is washed and starts to loosen up it will be a perfect snuggle on the couch blanket.
